CHALLENGE: Help find Warren Webster repair part

Friends - I have nine Warren Webster convectors installed in library, dining room, and entryway walls. One might call these "tube and fin" style radiators. The valve and trap are part of the whole assembly, I've ordered some Tunstall thermostatic trap elements BUT I have a problem for those of you that have been around these things:

The valve and trap each 'sit' on the male end of a union which is threaded to the 3/4" supply and 1/2" return in the floor. Three of these (at least) are leaking steam. I need to replace the part of the union that threads on the pipe BUT the threading is nonstandard - a standard 3/4" union is too big for the valve (lockring slips over the threads) and a standard 1/2" union is threaded slightly diferently and won't screw nicely onto the trap side. Does anyone have any thoughts on how to tackle this - what would you do? I'd really like to keep the convectors for all the obvious reasons -

THANKS

Brian
