good way to insulate those is with spray foam from below, IMO. Need to check fire ratings, etc on the product you spec for compliance with codes. Multiple unit dwellings may have tougher codes for this.

    suspended slab floor heat

    DEAR READERS,
I'VE BEEN ASKED TO PROVIDE BUDGET #'S TO INSTALL IN-FLOOOR HEAT IN A SUSPENDED SLAB FOR A MULTIPLE UNIT DWELLING. THE SLAB IS TO BE 4" THICK CONCRETE, POURED OVER STEEL PAN DECKING, SUPPORTED BY STEEL TRUSS-JOISTS. ALL THREE FLOORS OF HEATING HAVE HEAT (CONDITIONED AREAS)UNDER THEM.
MY BIGGEST CONCERN IS INSULATING AND CONTROLLING OF THE SLAB MASS.IS THERE A "FITTED" INSULATION FOR THE UPPERSIDE OF THE DECKING AVAILABLE? DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE WITH THIS TYPE OF INSTALLATION? GOOD OR BAD? PLEASE ADVISE.
    THANK YOU, OLY

    I used icynene

    in my shop and office.

Just type icynene into your browser. Here is one site that came up www.foam-tech.com

It's a Vermont company with lots of info at their page.

Spray foam is only way to roll.

even though the decking and masonry isnt your job you be well served spending some job site quality time doing an inspection one more time prior to the pour...

    Lite Deck

You may want to suggest that the engineers look at a product called Lite Deck. It replaces the corrigated decking with a preinsulated form.
