Could be a number of things

All of which need professional attention.

Your boiler could be sooted up and partially plugged. I'd check this first. When was the last time it was cleaned, as in brushed and vac'd? If it's been loinger than 2 years it needs to be done. Period.

The burner could have the wrong nozzle in it. The firing rate should be on the label.

The air adjustment could be off. This is something that is best done by a tech with a combustion analyzer to get it set right.

in the Weil 535. 1.25 X 80 W Nozzle @ 100#. Air Choke Ring Dia 2 5/8". Static Disc Dia 3 13/16". Spinner O/S Dia 2 1/4". Face of nozzle 7/8" back from front edge of Air Choke. Spinner 3/16" ahead of nozzle face. Electrodes 3/8" up-5/8" ahead of NOZZLE ADAPTER FACE-3/32" gap.

The 535 w/ the ABC was a tough nut. The 2 1/4" Spinner was used only on the burner for the 535. The 35 was also chamberless. Not even a rug. A rug and target wall solved many problems w/ this combo. Good luck.

By the way. My literature is dated 1971. Nuff said.

IVE TRIED THE DUMPSTER ROUTINE BUT THIS BOILER IS IN GREAT CONDITION AND I WOULD LOVE TO GET THIS GUN RUNNING OR FIND A SUTABLE WAY TO CONVERT TO A BECKET. ANY IDEAS ON A SUITABLE WAY TO MOUNT A BECKET IN THIS PIG. SOME ONE PUT A CALIN NOZZEL TURBULATOR ON GUN, IT WONT SET UP.
