Insulation - Northwest Philly

Any suggestions on installers who would work on a steam system in a house in Northwest Philadelphia? Our Veco system with Columbia boiler was helped immensely with a visit by "Steamhead" - heat's reaching all the radiators, no more auto filling on a regular basis - and Pompettis are going to refit the piping between the boiler and the system, but we want to get the pipes insulated before we spend too much heating the basement instead of the upstairs. It's something we _could_ do ourselves but other jobs are higher on the list. So far the only recommendation turned out to be a commercial installer who doesn't do houses....... Thanks guys!

    insulating the mains

How long are your mains? What diameter?

The Pompettis did my near boiler piping and I did the insulation for 90 feet of 2.5" main with a bunch of 90s, 45s, and tees. It took me about 2 and a half hours to install once I had the insulation onsite. And it isn't difficult to do either. The 1.5" thick fiberglass is available from a company down in Aston (almost to Delaware down I-95). The company is Insulation Materials Corp.

Maybe I'll do it for you. Email me and we can talk.
