Hydronic Retrofit - DF

This is one we finished a couple of weeks ago. It is a new home in a suburb about 25 miles south of Washington, DC - Woodbridge, VA. The owners moved into their new home and suffered through a winter of scorched air heat. Having lived in Germany for several years, they were familiar with hydronic heat and wanted it for their new home.

The heat source is a Monitor MZ condensing boiler. We used Runtal radiators on the first floor and Dianorm panel rads w/TRV's on the two upper floors. We also installed radiant floor heat in the master bath. We left taps for a future basement zone when it is finished off.

So far the homeowners are happy as well as warm & toasty with their hydronic system. -DF
