Steam Boiler w/copper risers?

Should copper be used on steam? The boiler in question is a Weil-McLain 1078. If this is not proper/acceptable is it CODE or just good sense. (Boiler is in NYS)
Many Thanks
ps. If Code or the like where can I obtain a written copy

I dont think its a code issue...
Just poor practice.0 -
copper
The copper cannot take all of the expansion and contraction that results by the way a steam system works: makes steam for a while, then cools off for a while, then makes more steam. In between the cycles the pipes cool a little and contract. Over time, leaks develop and it gets real ugly. It's just good practice to avoid copper on near-boiler-piping.0
