Residential Recessed Radiator Valve

in THE MAIN WALL
My house was built in the early 40's with recessed radiators. To have the valve fit properly, I need a valve with a stem slightly smaller than the standard 1/8".
Or can someone recommend a 'fix' to this problem.

    hoffman 500

    if you are talking about an air valve, a hoffman " 500 " might solve your problem
