This one ain't pretty.

Just heard that a gunman is in Cape Girardeau Wal-Mart claiming to have set bombs in the store! Hope it's a really bad joke, but police scanners usually don't lie.

    EXTREME police presence, heard that it appears most or all innocents are out of that and nearby buildings and traffic is being kept WELL away. (Fortunately they have those giant parking lots for a "buffer".)

    Good News

    It WAS a kook with a sword and a pellet gun. He'd just robbed a pharmacy in a nearby town so he was probably stoned out of his head. Claims of bombs were not mentioned on local TV so surely such were the ravings of a lunatic.

    Glad it WON'T be in the BIG news again like the "little" problem with the Mississippi River bridge demolition!

    And a hunting knife as well. Claimed to have placed two bombs in the store but no traces found there or in his car.

    Happened to be in a city building and heard the initial stuff on scanner they were playing. Everyone freaked.
