Bid on Gyp-Span Pour

I'm a DIYer putting radiant heat in my existing basement. I'm installing the tubing myself. I asked a local company to bid a 1 1/2 overpour of Gyp-Span. I got a bid of $3000.00 to pour 900 square feet in one pour. I have no way of knowing whether this is a competative bid. Anyone out there willing to comment? Thanks in advance.

I should not quote prices on this site...........
so I won't.
But I will tell you it sounds real high. I most likely am no where near you, (in Alaska), but the dealer I use drives about 500 miles round trip and charges about 1/2 that. This is in the land where things usually cost more, ot less than the lower 48. This includes him and his crew, as well as the material and labor for the pour.

*~/ i tend to agree with Steve on this...
our supplies are at a premium...quality workmanship although not necessarily connected to price, tends to be higher than a similar :Nebulous word "though defineable....in the lower 48 states. much depends on location and the layoutand acessability of the work. it sounds rather Steep however......this is not to badmouth anyone. in Alaska, we really dont have much choise but to do it right the first go round..so, anyone get hold of the stuff that looks like egg cartons for gypcrete pours yet? What about any pictures from ISH showing this material? Something else occured to me,one person mentioned the we dont do basement which made me wonder if thequote included insulationover the existing crete and or vapor barrier or some special adhesive sizer....in which case perhaps i was bit too hasty to dial in my two cents from the peanut gallery...Ardex can get spendy Real Quick so....ehm...erhhhhh..depends on what your buying...0 -
gyp-crete below grade?
In Chicago Gyp crete boys say no to below grade pours. Gyp will soften if the basement floods. 11/2 " concrete 2.50 -3.00 per sq ft0 -
Gyppour
I am a gypsum concrete applicator. We charge $3/sq. ft. for a pour over radiant tubes. I would be very afraid of someone chargeing half of that.0
