Baby Devoro??
Isn't the flush valve suppose to face the other way?..Robert O'Connor/NJ0 -
Left handed?
You mean that most push the handle with the left hand while holding their handle with the right hand?
My guess is that the 4 year olds will use the entire thing for target practice and then leave. Of course at one time we could write our name in the snow at 5 paces, now I am happy if I keep the shoes dry.0 -
doug..
I apologize for making the post seem critical of your install. I work, as well as being a contractor, I also do plan reveiw for the state DCA on HHS structures as well as ADA compliant toilet rooms, and I'm a local municipal inspector as well. On a ADA compliant install (even the Baby Devoro bowl), in a handicap aplication, the handle shall be on the approach side as well as caulking around the base for those less than perfect little aimers. Robert, I never assumed
that you were being critical, only that your comments were quite appropriate since I did not make the connection with the position of the handle to a code.
I volunteered to document the project for the town. I was having fun at why these things get installed with the left side handle after you posed the question. I suppose there is some logic but it never occurred to me as to why handles are typically on the left in all public WC's.
I just know now that this will stick in my mind and I will be noticing things like that as I travel, another piece of information for Happy Time beer hour??
Will pass the caulking around the base to the contractor, excellent tip.0 -
Dan recently posted a story about why hot is on the left and most handles are on the right. When it came to the urinal (which breaks the rule) it was because you were using your right hand to hold something else...0 -
New Buderus doesn't heat the house!
Dear Dan, We installed a brand new Buderus..$4,000 which was promised by the oil co. to be "fabulous" for this old (1830) house, 2100 sf .Last winter was HELL...house at 58 degrees in main downstairs. Upstairss pretty much ok. Oil co. insisting it was correct size for house. They would come and perform various tests, added a larger red thing (not tiger loop, but the big red thing)..insisting everything was fine, except of course it didn;'t heat the house during freezing weather. (We set thermostat at 90 for example, just to test it on a 50 degree day, house would climb by one degree an HOUR and never even reach 76!!!) This year we called in other people to eval. and they also say same thing ,Buderus is undersized for house. How can we PROVE that it is wrong size and get them to put in new one NOW??? Thanks, love this site by the way....JConway0
