I have a one pipe steam system in my house. In the middle bedroom upstairs I have a radiator hook up but no radiator. The bedroom measures 10 x 9. I wanted to put in a 2 foot Burnham Baseray, but being that it is a one pipe system the manufacter does not reccomend it. I had the same radiator istalled in a downstairs bathroom about 4 years ago and never had a problem with it. The upstairs of the house is fairly warm so I won't be expecting it to heat up the room I just want it to take the chill out of the air when needed. Since there is nothing in there now I am really wondering what the harm would be?

The inlet
is higher than the lowest internal part of the radiator, whcih causes water to pool. It can squirt from your air vent and that's probably why the manufacturer is telling you not to use it. I don't think you'll have much of a problem is you limit it to two feet, though.Retired and loving it.0 -
pipe radiator
With such a small room maybe you could make your own radiator. One of the people who posts here makes a little bathroom heater by using a vertical pipe capped at the top with a normal one pipe vent at the top. I wish I had saved the picture he posted. Maybe someone else has it.0
