Veco & Broomell

While looking through the Lost Art I noticed on page 254 & 255 they talk about The Broomell & Veco system. I had always thought that they where the same system and company, apparently not! Although, it seems as if they function and can be cleaned the same way. Is this true? Both traps have the removable screw & both valves appear to be the same. How many of you have actually cleaned the traps and have also taken apart the supply valve to WD40 the spring? Is it something you recommend doing or are you opening a can of worms?

Are you sure that these are traps...I have an old Broomell/Veco system....it doesn't have traps...anyway, if you are cleaning the supply side valves, take off the valve, unscrew the base from the valve, and mineral oil the spring, and you'll be fine...be sure to reset the orifices correctly when you reinstall it...John
