outdoor boiler reset controls

does anyone out there know of a stand alone boiler reset control with strap on indoor and outdoor sensors adjustable reset ratios and a single button/switch for bypassing the reset function, for a cost of 250.00 or less? I,m familiar with teckmar, taco etc. but they either plug into existing systems or don,t meet the above criteria.

    I might have one but........

I will have to check at home and see if I still have it.

  • why a $250 price point? Whatever you choose will probably pay for itself in efficiency gains.

    reset controller

Have you looked into the Erie Boiler Boss 2400 outdoor reset controller? I've had one on my oil fired boiler for the last 8 years. Relatively inexpensive. Has worked flawlessly. See http://www.invensysbuildings.com/pdfs/F-27015-1.pdf

Honeywell makes a nice one that does everything you want.
Check thier website for application data. I got one for my boiler install and it was about $225 as I remember.

    tekmar 256

    Hello John,

The tekmar 256 provides outdoor reset, comes with a strap on Boiler Supply Sensor, an Outdoor Sensor, and should come in at your price point.

If you want to override the outdoor reset on the 256, simply wire a switch directly to the boiler thermostat connection.

    Boiler Reset Controls

Caleffi introduced a new one at ISH. Simple, low cost, and provides an input to bypass the reset based on either an aquastat for an indirect, or any contact closure that would bypass the reset. Also has a back lit display so that you can see it in a dark basement.

Also thanks for the post on the Erie Boiler Boss 2400. I designed it.

    We have 3 models...

the AQ475, which varies boiler run time to provide reset, the AQ675 that works with a 3-way mixing valve and an actuator, and the AQ775, that works with either a 4-way rotary valve or an injection pump. They are listed in order of cost and complexity. I would use the AQ675, with an appropriate 3-way mixing valve and actuator as the best value vs cost. We do not set the pricing...contact a local pro to get a quote.
