Steam heat radiator options

A planned kitchen remodel requires elimination of conventional radiators used with a steam system. What products are available to replace radiators, such as kick space or wall units?

Perhaps the remodel includes an island? If so, can you incorporate panel radiator(s) into the island design--either the new steel variety or old cast iron from salvage?

Can you be more specific, what are panel heaters? and what size would be adequate for a room @ 375 sq 'w/ cathedral ceilings

Panel radiators are thin and usually hang from the wall. They can be used with both steam and hot water. Buderus, Runtal, and Myson (among a number of others) are manufacturers. Available in a wide variety of sizes and configurations from short and long to tall and skinny. All have websites.

As to how much radiation is needed, it all depends on the climate, the layout of the space and [likely] the sizing of your existing steam radiation.

    steam radiators

I have a one-pipe steam system. I would like to change out a couple of newer cast iron radiators for ornate victorian ones. I found the perfect sizes, but they are for hot-water systems. Can I convert these hot-water radiators to steam? And can steam be converted to hot-water?
    Thank you
