Coverting open loop to closed loop

Hello,
I am a homeowner who installed an open loop RFH system in my house last year. It is a staple up system and uses a Polaris. Up until 15 minutes ago (after having read several posts regarding open loop systems) I'd hadn't given the system a second thought. It works well and I'd congratulated myself on a job well done.
Then, by accident I discovered the Wall. I realize (now) I should have done some further research. Like many homeowners, I received a pricey bid from a contractor, got online, read and liked the sales pitch and purchased a system from a certain company in Vermont.
It's been running for a year and we stayed warm all winter, but I'm suddenly very concerned regarding bacteria (legionaires...not sure if that's spelled right or not).
I know from the posts their is a certain "I told you so" feeling regarding homeowners doing their own systems and problems occuring. I understand this. But despite the fact I feel silly for not having done further homework originally, I now want to fix it (the right way).
I contacted the company and they tell me that the water never stagnates in the system as fresh water is always entering any time a hot water tap is turned on in the house. This sounds convincing. However, I'm not sure I want to risk the health of my family, especially after reading the information posted here. Are there any actually cases of people getting sick from open loop systems? I know they potential is certainely there, but has it, (or is it) occuring?
Like I said, the system has been working fine, but I'm concerned enough to want to convert this from and open loop to a closed loop. I'd appreciate any suggestions or thoughts anyone might have on this. I'd be especially interested in talking to someone who's actually converted an open loop to closed loop.
Thanks a bunch!
Stephen

A few options
Danfoss and Flat Plate offer pre packaged HX panels. Taco will have one after the first of the years.
Pretty simple to build one with the right components. But the plug and play panels may be worth the expense for you.
