Choosing a replacement boiler

The boiler in a house built in 1923 that we have just purchased was flooded in a recent tropical storm. This type of heating technology is totally unfamiliar to us and we got several local contractors to bid the job to replace the unit. Two recommended a unit called the "Munchkin 140 M", said to run at the "highest efficiency 92% AFUE". I'm not sure what all that means, but as prior years heating bills have been extraordinary, we would like to improve on fuel consumption (natural gas) and get the best unit for the job. Does anyone have any experience with this equipment or other comments or suggestions about what to look for when replacing a system?

    Bang for the buck, the HTP Munchkin is an exellent choice.
    Combine it with a Vision control, with outdoor reset, and you WILL notice a drop in your fuel consumption. However, the Munchkin MUST be installed in accordance with MFG. Instructions, (particularly the venting) Also make sure the contractors know how to Primary/secondary pipe, and how it works. we've installed about 40-50 of those little guys, and they never cease to amaze me.(almost no trouble at all.
    PS. if you have a water problem in your basement besides the tropical storm you might want to invest in the "stand" as well. It lifts it up off the floor about 2ft.
