Indirect Noises

Brand new installation; Superstor 199 gal. indirect connected to a Munchkin 140M.
The Superstor will make these loud cracking expansion noises, loud enough to wake everyone at night and be heard outside the building. It happens even when the boiler is off.
Has this happened to anyone else? It's driving my customer (and me) nuts.

Alan,
Please give me a call at 800-323-9651 ext. 157 so that we can discuss this issue. You should not get any noise at all out of that system.

I bet...
The pump is located so that is pulling OUT OF the indirect coil, rather than pushing into the coil.
I bet the pipe size to the coil is marginal for what that pump is moving (GPMs).

Thanks for the response, guys.
Nron: No, there is no x-tank on the domestic, but I like your idea; maybe that's what it needs. Indirect water temperature is 125° and we will check the toilets. Excellent suggestions; thanks.
Guy: There's a message on your machine; thanks for lurking here on The Wall.
Noel: We followed the Munchkin piping diagram; pump pushing into the coil; it's either 1" or 1¼".

How hot?
What temp is the water in the boiler side of the coil?
Noel0 -
Boiler side
is default for the Vision I system, hot water priority; must be 180°.
But like I said, the noises come when the boiler is off.

Strange
I've got them to make crackling sounds with too hot water going through them, but proper piping and blending with a bypass cured it.
This is the job.....

SuperStor
Guy from Heat Transfer Products just called me and suggested a test: connect an expansion tank to the Superstor tank drain with a washing machine hose to see if that gets rid of the problem. If that works, make it a permanent installation.
I'll report back with the results.
