what is the phone number for Vaillant?

You'll have to try the Europe location.

    ???

Are you doing a re-pipe or installing an old "new" boiler?

What kind of a system is it going to be lashed up to?

(lashed up, I like that term, makes me think of duct tape and baler twine) Thanks Weezbo!

    The rumor I heard

is Kerr of Canada bought the casting rights, or whatever.

If this is true, replacement sections should be still available. All other components are off the shelf components. Except of course that funky intergral vent damper. Although an aftermarket damper can be installed on the top, with a little vent mod..

The story I got from Vaillant was they would be available for warranty help for at least 20 years after the last boiler was sold. Maybe longer??

I know for sure they have been there to help me every time I have called. Colin is the fellow with all the info you need. I appreciate that!

I believe Villant is a big player in the fuel cell business, maybe we will see thay name here again.

Hard knowing what caused a section failure without a crack down test. In all fairness installation, water, and fire side, maintenance and care probably, and thermal shock probably is the biggest cause of casting failure. I think most boiler manufactures just suck up the expense without actually finding the exact cause of every single failure.

This will all go away with aluminum and stainless boilers! Wink, wink :)

I had heard that Kerr story too,

but I thought it was just for Canada.

Valliant is very big in Germany, but most of their stuff is made by someone else. I know the last boilers were made by Rapido and they have always been tough to fire according to my Euro-friends.

I know the last time I had some old customers call me looking for them we tried everything and had no luck, go figure!!! Thanks for the info, hot rod!

    Valliant

RE Michel was a large Valliant Distributor. Recently, I saw a NEW 100HE boiler (complete) sitting in my local branch. It was for warranty. Interesting. I guess it came out of Kerr. Kerr was being sold here for a while after Valliant pulled out, but the 100 series Valliant left such a bad taste in people's mouths that they never sold too good.

    Vaillant

They ran - not walked - back to Germany. At one time Patco in Cinnaminson, NJ was handling their parts. I am not sure if that is still the case.
