improving an existing hot water base board system
Donald Raines
Member Posts: 1
A new home (7 years) with a hot water baseboard system. Not adequate for winter cold. Limited wall space because almost 25% of wall space is window walls where baseboard tubes cannot be run. Any suggestions?

Panel Radiators
Less wall space and nice even heat0 -
Many options
Like Dave said, they make panel rads that can be as high as a wall and only 2 ft wide. Fan coils are available both as surface and wall insert (or in-floor) mount. If you have AC cooling ducts, you might also think about putting a hydro-coil in the air handler and run some forced warm air into the room. Radiant flooring could be done staple-up from the basement or a quick track tubing system could be layed over the current sub-floor. I sure others can come up with even more ideas.0 -
Higher capacity baseboard
Most homes use standard residential baseboard about 7 1/2 inches tall and 2 1/4 inches deep. If you go to high output baseboard...about 8 3/4 inches tall and 3 inches deep.....you can get about 60% more output in the same length.
