I like my New VisionPro

My new Visionpro stat is functioning. Good thing with these chilly nights. I like the feature where you pull the stat off the wall and program it at the desk with the manual. Easy to see and good logic, a nice unit. And I don't have to go downstairs to unplug the 007 when it is warm enough, also a nice feature. Hmmm, next the wiring mess.

    Bill, 2 questions

If using as dual fuel control, it is designed for either heat pump or fuel furnace but not both? Meaning there is no 2nd stage if the heat pump alone can't keep up?

When outdoor sensor says too cold for heat pump, is AUX energized? But in Em Heat, E is energized first then AUX so I can't use this to control a 2 stage gas furnace too? I would need the stat to be consistent in both regular heat & em heat.

Sorry I missed your thread the other day...

We're in the process of moving our office, so things are a bit confused around here. Sorry I missed you. The outside air sensor only provides a convenience readout to the stat display, and has no effect on the stat operation. You can do up to 3 stages heat & two stages cool in a heat pump, but for dual fuel, I need some more info, which I probably can't get to until Monday. I 'll get back to you as soon as I know. Sorry for the delay!

    Thanks Bill

What I'm trying to do is run a 2 stage gas furnace and a heat pump using it.

On my current setup, I just have a 3 stage heat HP stat. W1 jumps to Y1 for compressor, W2 & W3 control the gas so I have normal control of the 2 stage furnace either backing up the heat pump or in emergency heat.

If the outdoor stat with the Vision Pro says it is too cold for heat pump, it appears AUX is energized to bring on backup.

But in emergency heat, E is energized first then AUX as 2nd stage which fowls up using E as 1st stage gas and AUX as 2nd stage gas.

while you are at it Bill,

can you tell me what it takes for a humidity reading to show? Sensor? Setup? Also, a client tried to go into the installer mode to change something, and he and I went by the book to get the 4 digit code by pressing the buttons, but no code ever came up. I was there because the back light quit working after a couple of days, and swapping the stat head out cured that problem. Either head tho, we had trouble getting that code, so if you can help that would be great. I returned the defective stat to my supplier for warranty. Thanks in advance!

    I think they are fantastic!

    I used

the Dual fuel function in my rental house and it is working well. I had to jump the E to the aux so emergency heat would bring on the furnace. A 2 speed furnace might have to rely on the furnace board timer to bring on the 2nd stage. What brand furnace are you using?

    Choo Choo

I won't use the timer, it just causes lots of short cycling. I like very long low fire run cycles and you can only do that with a multistage stat. If the Vision Pro can't do it, I'll stay with my current stat.

    Humidity reading...

Hi, Bob! How's it going? The humdity feature is only available on the TH8321U1006 model. It's purpose is to allow the system to continue to de-humidify after the cooling setpoint is reached, a concern especially in the South. It's actually de-humidifying control. Only the PC8900 Home Control System features humidifier control.
