boiler installation

I am installing a oil fired boiler with section for domestic hot water. I am going to put the pump on the supply side of boiler. Is it all right to put in line right on top of boiler? Because 3 feet out of boiler, the line goes into a valve which looks like something that will keep heat from generating into the heating loop while the boiler is heating for the domestic hot water. This valve has one output to main loop in house. The other side is a secondary loop and than it goes up to the aerating tank on back side of valve. Any comments if I put pump here would be appreciative.
Thank you

pump location
Mike, pumping away means placing the circulator after the air elimination device. the valve you refer to sounds like a flow check and there must be an air scoop after that, that the expansion tank line is connected to. Install the circulator after the air scoop. Placing it immediately on top of the boiler is just like having it on the return.
