Water leaking from radiator

Hi,
I have water leaking from the far end of the radiator. I have a piece of wood under it at the far end to slant the water back to the valve. What can be causing the problem? Is is slanted to much, not enough, or does the vent need to be replaced?
Thanks

Where is it leaking from?
Assuming 1-pipe steam, the air vent on a steam radiator should only vent air. If it is venting steam or spitting water, it needs to be replaced. Or is it leaking from somewhere else (a plug or between sections)?
I have an upstairs radiator with supply piping apparently not quite big enough, because if I vent the rad too fast, the condensate quickly forming in a cold rad starts gurgling (cannot get back past the steam fast enough). But it does not leak any water. If I vent it slower, the sections get hot as it fills, so no big slug of condensate.
Or something else may be wrong back at your boiler (overfilled or wet steam due to improper near boiler piping or plugged return).0
