I'm sure i have a broomell system,because of the p-trap i see in the book.Page 254.Problem is the quintuple valves have been changed,an now the radiators don't heat up all thye way.A few of the p-traps are missing to.Does anyone know where i can get new or replacement quintuple valves & p-traps ?A suppler phone number would help thanks.

    These are very difficult to find

    But you can substitute a disk orifice for the Quintuple orificing function, and use a standard radiator trap instead of the water seal at the return connection.

    If the system isn't heating up correctly, and the large cylindrical regulator or the condensing radiator was removed, make sure the dry return is well vented. Air from the radiators vents thru the dry return, and if the air can't get out, the steam can't get in. I ran into this on a VECO not long ago.

    orifice plates ?

    Do the plates work like the quintuple valves?One more question,the union elbow,can it be swicthed with a thermostatic trap 1/2 ,an will it fuction the same way.

    Orifice plates

    are used with standard valves to limit the amount of steam going into the radiator. This would correspond with the different sizes of Quintuple Valves made for different sizes of radiators.

    You would still be able to adjust the amount of steam below the orifice capacity by turning the valve handle.

    It's possible to switch to traps, but why? The Broomell elbows have no moving parts like traps do.
