\"ins and outs\"

Are there any great books written from a service mans perspective? I have the books this website offers, begginning with the end in mind is great, but troubleshooting the individual components is what I'm looking for. The ins and outs so I can shoot down components without reservations and calling others for a confirmation.
I have an excellent equivelent to Modern Refrigeration, but again, it isn't so much of a diagnosis as it is a summary of the components. It leaves gaps for the troubleshooting.

Also, at the end of many chapters, there is a section for service calls where they give you the result and go through the process of troubleshooting, and offer some where you need to find the solution yourself. Any books like this--service calls where you need to think out the solution?
A mechanical mystery that you have to solve?

I want to be a champion HVAC service tech, knowing all the ins and outs of the components so I can be quick, sharp, and accurate so at 2 am, on call in freezing rain that takes all the heat out of your body in .25 seconds, you can know exactly what you are doing to get the job done and get back in bed asap.

Any help along these lines will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

and to find out what the best meters for a service tech to have for handling all the different volatages and amps, etc. Tim McElwein recommends the Honeywell W-136 because the spark won't interfere with the readings; I like to travel light and have the UEI DL 250 which does everything--but is it accurate enough for microamps etc

Thanks in advance

    \" Champion , LOL \"

Hey , I see a book at Aireco called "Doolins trouble stooting bible " or something like that , been in print forever. I like Dans " Pocket full of Steam Probs". I always carry " Pumping Away " in the truck. I like the Becket catalog with the two cartoon guys for oil probs.

But to be a " Champion ( rofl ) " . I think someone classified as a champion would need nothing other than a couple water proof matches and a pressure -temperature chart to solve any problem in the galaxy.
