Wallies,

Looking for your input on how a boiler with two temp (hi/low temp) and DHW all already built in would fit into your market. See enclosed pictures.

This boiler modulates as well. Looking forward to your comments.

  • Nice little gas boiler.

Tom, Is that an MZ with brains? Geminox sure makes some fine machines for those Euro-WetHeads:-)

It will be interesting as all of the major Euro.brands will soon be bringing their latest & greatest condensing/modulating boilers to the North American market. I suspect the poor fuel oil quality in the US is the #1 reason preventing the widespread usage of your well made Monitor FCX boiler.

Some questions remain though; Condensing boilers hold only a very small (but growing) fraction of the residential hydronics market so, who's going to be buying & installing these pups? Will the distributors HAVE TO complete some sort of factory specific training program before purchase to avoid their misapplication in the field? Will your technical service department be ready to field the potentially large volume of calls/questions? Is it really going to be worth it for your company bringing the THI over here considering the FIERCE competition for this niche market?

    Tough questions.

    I'd like to try one.

I'm pushing #2 through a newly installed side venting FCX, so far no problems.

Not to be Eurocentric, but I lived in Europe for 2.5 years, SE Asia for 1.5 (not much of a heating market there) and the US for a bunch of years. The only heating gear I considered was European, the laws and social conscience of the EU countries make it the best to be had for now. From Rudolph Diesel to the German who designed the Heatwise burner in my FCX, those people know how to burn oil. Leave it to a country where BTU/sq meter is mandated by law to have the best equipment - racial stereo types aside.
