more on Baseray leak

Well, Tim and Bob have different opinions on repairing a leaking Baseray!
It doesn't leak with it is hot - I should say warm.
It NEVER gets hot. I'm told the expansion stops the leak.
It is so luke warm I am thinking of turning the water off to it and just using my wall furnace.
We had to put in the wall furnace because the room was so freezing.
Could I keep the water going to it in the winter, then in the summer when it contracts, turn off the water supply and bleed? Stopping the leak?
I am trying to avoid replacement as I'm a widdowed senior trying to sell this house without spending a fortune repairing everything.
And to replace repair a unit that doesn't even seem to get hot water sounds dumb.
I am getting a new boiler. Maybe they can figure out why the water is not hot in the Baseray.
I had to crank my furnace up to 80 degrees to get any warmth out of the Base Ray and the old part of the house with the radiators was roasting. My dog almost passed out.
