John, if you haven't been to the Grand Hotel, or are looking for a good reason to return, try this idea for a great time. There is an annual "Somewhere in Time" weekend special that is fabulous. My wife and I have made it a biennial trip, it is really a "grand" experience.

    Celebrity deaths

    1. Janet Leigh (Psycho shower scene)

    2. Rodney Dangerfield (No respect)

    3. Christopher Reeves (Superman)

Of all of Reeve's movies, I enjoyed "Somewhere in Time" the best. It was filmed here on Michigan's Mackinac Island and our daughter is named after the Jane Seymour character.

I admired his strength to fight back after that horrific spinal injury and become an advocate for medical research. It is a real shame.

    Thanks Grumpy

It's always been on our "wish list." Someday. Somewhere.

    except for

Janet Leigh, I've felt both gents "aurora". Two years ago, I did the HVAC at Rodney's Westport CT home. He had sold it, and true to his "no respect" mantra, it was torn down, except for the spectacular indoor pool room and spa. I did 5 hydroair systems, boiler, Phase 3, and a Desertaire dehumidifier for the pool room. Rolling Stone had done an interview years back describing Rodney loving life there..Everytime I worked in the pool area I thought of him diving off the board:)

More recently, last fall, there was a benefit at a local Hyatt for fundraising for a local playhouse run by Joanne Woodward-Paul Newmans wife. Didn't have the 500. per plate, but happened to be in the hotel at the time getting my haircut:). Came out of the hair place, and the hall to the ballroom was swamped with Hollywood doing cocktail hour. I waded through with my wife and child-passed Robin Williams, for one, and there beside me was Reeves and his wife. We exchanged smiles, and I was struck by how serene the area was around him..almost dignified. I remember thinking what a big man he was, even in his wheelchair. He fought the good fight.

Let's hope that my contact with celebs is healthy..I just finished Joe Pantoliano's (Joey Pants) heat and A/C. That involved catching his wife in my arms as she tripped over a rolled up carpet..but that's another story (G).
