cast iron Baseray radiator leak

I have a 19 foot Baseray leaking right at the middle seam....a very tiny amount of water. When it gets hot (never really gets more than luke warm as at the end of the loop) the leak stops.
I think it sprayed up into the wall as some damage above.
Anyhow -
Would boiler seal work/help?
Baseray's are very costly to replace. Nobody thinks it can be repaired...lots of rust at the leak (nipple?)

Big question: Will boiler seal ruin the new boiler I'm getting installed?
Two contractors want to try it first. Third doesn't like boiler seal. I am moving within a year.
Don't want to spend an extra $1,050 quoted to replace this Baseray, on top of a new boiler.
Used radiators were also suggested, but it's such a beautiful "greatroom" I hate to do that.

    leaky baseray

Easy fix, remove from wall, remove section that is leaking. Buy new section or maybe both that mate up at leak area. new push nipples, press together, bolt and reinstall and fill. Thats it. Good luck

Tim,you sound like a man that really enjoys pain. if i get a job like that once every thirty years ,it is way too much. only thing worse would be if it was your own callback. no matter what you charge,it is not enough
