Total baseboard per zone

Shopping for new system as we speak.
I have heard some numbers thrown about regarding how many feet of baseboard you can have on one zone.
Is there some concensus as to a number for this AND does this number change depending on the diameter of the copper that is used.
Additionally, with an old chimney - if I stay with oil, is a chimney liner recommended/required etc. I am aware that making the change to gas will require the lining of the chimney, just not sure if the same applies to oil upgrade.
Thanx
Thank you

Steve,
Go to the "Heating Q & A" on the top left....should answer your questions.
If you like what you see, then buy a couple of Dan's books - you will not regret it.
Take Care, PJO0
