Plastic modular manifolds

The ones I have used were made by RTI, or at least distributed by them. So far I have had few "issues" with them. Getting the male NPT adapter to seal up leak tight against a copper or steel fitting can be a challenge but once accomplished they hold.
Do I still use them? No. I just don't like to take chances and the tried and true brass and copper units have never failed me.

Plastic modular manifolds for hydronic use
I'm getting more intrigued about the plastic modular manifolds on the market these days.
http://www.heatlink.com/us/SL3.htm is one example of a modular system that links together port-by-port.
Another one is on page 24 of http://www.vanguardpipe.com/pdfs/hrh install 04.pdf
Any thoughts on the value and long-term reliability of these manifolds?
- are they prone to leakage?
- do they represent good value of the money in terms of reduced install time?
- do you have callbacks for problems with these?
- how do homeowners perceive them?
- what do you perceive their biggest plus/minuses to be?
Thanks for your thoughts.0
