sealant

After pulling off old insulation on my very old boiler, I noticed gaps in the boiler sections, where you can see right into the fire box. I will most likely get a new boiler, but I was wondering if there is a sealant that would patch those gaps?

Furncace cement
Comes in a dry powder form. Mix to thick consistency and apply with trowel. Follow the instructions on the bag.

sealant
I appreciate the advice on using furnace cement. I was a little hesitant since that stuff is kind of rigid and some of the new boilers advertise they use a sealant that is flexible. Thanks again0
