steam boiler w/ unused coil, has 2 hydronic loops w/ circulators. customer had a side arm connected to coil until it cracked, now has electric. also there is a radiant loop that has never been connected. what would be the best way to tie in the radiant loop and add an indirect (or another side arm). I appreciate any and all responces, thanks

I'd be worried
if you had enough BTU's to drive 3 high temp loops(1 an indirect) and a low temp loop plus keep the steam up. Maybe a good time to look at a seperate unit to drive the hot water needs. I guess you need oil fired since the water tank is electric? What about a Combo WH and heat exchanger from Bradford White or Triangle Tube. Both have oil-fired and gas units.0 -
thanks Joe,
I am a little worried. I would like to use the boiler just to keep it in use all year. I may have to do as you suggest and use a seperate source. Do you know if there is a side arm available? The customer really liked his old one, and that was connected to the coil. thanks again0 -
