The Hydronic Foundation, INC.

Who are these guys?

They seem like they almost know what they are talking about, but not quite. The info on their pages seems to be *almost* on but misleading.

www.hydronics.org is their homepage. Not a lot about where they are from or what have you and I'm a little suspicious of their embedded advertising for the Phase III (not that it's a bad unit!!!).

Anyone know who they are, really?

    Hydronics Institute?

Maybe you are looking at something different but there is a Hydronics Institute. They have an "H" with a clover emblem.
The IBR (institute of boilers and radiators) excluded steel boilers and the SBI (steel Boiler institute) adopted their own standards which were fairly close to the IBR's.
The IBR and the SBI became one and are now the Hydronics Institute.........ROOKIE

  • Nope, it's the Hydronics Foundation, not institute. www.hydronics.org

Your right, "almost" on and misleading together. I didn't spend a lot of time on the site but I saw a few things that didn't look that good. Technical info states when checking the pump on a burner if you get poor cut off to check the suction line for an air leak. Nowhere does it mention the PRV being bad. Also tells you to try for 0 smoke with a high
CO2. How high? Higher is better right? no target or no max.?
Says non-profit but I couldn't find an "about us" link.

    Rob,

it appears to me that this site has not been touched in a couple of years. Check the "seminars" heading. I found the article on the history of hydronics quite fascinating. It would be interesting to get in touch with the Hydronics Institute and get some pics or description about their valance cooling!
