STeam Radiator

Is commonly refered to as a "spud wrench".The chances of seeing God are better than that tool removing the nipple in question. On first try, both of the bumps will fall either into the radiator,or on the floor in front of you. Brass is good stuff, don't get me wrong, but those bumps are usually quite brittle after years of taking direct steam.
As to the pipe question size, is there a bushing going into a larger thread in the end of the radiator? If not looks like your stuck with 1-1/4. Chris

One-pipe steam Radiator question
How can I remove the "nipple" that goes into the bottom of my one-pipe steam rad? I see it has two lips inside which I know require a special tool, but what is it and what is it called?
I am also replacing a 1950's tube-type with the column decorative (Vicotrian-scrolled) column, but the "nipple" is a size too small. Can another in a larger size be added. I believe my valve is 1.5 inches and the existing "nipple" is 1.25 inches.0
