Balancing existing hot water convector system

I have a one pipe system. The upstairs bedrooms were added after the cape house was built. One of the 2 bedrooms upstairs is the first off the boiler, the living room on the first floor is the last to get hot water. Both convectors are about the same size. The living room always feels cooler than the rest of the house. What can I do to balance the heat without major re-plumbing? If I wrapped half of the upstairs bedroom convector with aluminum foil, would that help?
