is that your softener is stripping the thin film of scale you want to have coating the copper pipes. That would explain the blue color. Try not softening for two or three months, then soften at a much lower level. Leave 60 to 120 ppm of dissolved calcium solids in the water. Cloudiness could simply be air. Fill a glass and let it sit a few minutes. If the water clears, air (in solution, under pressure)is the cause. Hope that helps.

A bluish green film on the porcelain indicates a high acid condition. the acid is eating away at the copper and leaves the copper film on the porcelain. PH of 7 is neutral. Below 7 is acid, above 7 is alkaline. A PH test kit from a pet or aquarium store is a good place to start. If it is acid, a neutralizer will be needed.

    last testing?

Craig I also have a well and every two year's I take a sample and have it tested. Do you have a dug well or tapped? If it's a dug well it may be necessary to bleach the well. I would suggest you get with a company in your area to go over the proper procedures to have it taken care of....:) good luck..

Ceck the acidity of your water. If your ph is 5.9 or above, than you can install a neutralizer with geogia marble inside(backwash can be either manual or automatic) and your problem will end...but have a ph test done...you don't want to weaken your pipes with high acidity...let us know how you fare
