convert water to steam radiators

in THE MAIN WALL
I want to know if it is possible to convert hot water radiators into steam radiators. I had one old tymer tell me you can while another told me you can't! He said that it does'nt matter that the top of the radiator is connected by nipples, that it just heats up faster and that I have to drill new hole for vent. Please help as I can find no steam radiators in this area.
