Vinegar and threading?
I have read in Dan's writings about dipping newly threaded pipe in vinegar when instaling them on a new steam boiler. Has anyone done this and are the benefits worth the extra work? In theory the vinegar will remove the threading oil etc.. Also, would the new fittings benefit from a swim in the vinegar?
Thank You,

primer
WE USUALLY CLEAN OFF NEWLY THREADED ENDS WITH PVC PRIMER.. IT TAKES ALL THE OIL OUT, LETS THE TEFLON AND/OR DOPE SIT WELL.. ALSO, IF YOU USE WICK, IT WILL NOT MOISTEN IT WITH OIL.. WEAR A BEATHING MASK THOUGH..0
