Old boiler upgrade

I HAVE A 100 YEAR OLD CONVERTED TO GAS BOILER THAT NEED'S REPLACEMENT. I'M INTERESTED IN THE ENDURANCE COMBO EBP.
THE SYSTEM I HAVE NOW IN A TWO PIPE WATER SYSTEM USING A CIRCULATOR ON THE RETURN SIDE. THE PIPING FROM ALL RADIATORS TO THE BASEMENT ARE 3/4 ", IN THE BASEMENT, THE CLOSER YOU GET TO THE BOILER, THE PIPES INCREASES IN SIZE -- I GUEST IT USED TO BE GRAVITY FEED SYSTEM AT ONE TIME. I WOULD LIKE TO KEEP ONLY THE 3/4" TO CONNECT ON A NEW SYSTEM.
I THINK LARGE THE VOLUME OF WATER IN THE LARGER PIPES SLOWS DOWN THE HEATING AND COOLING RESPONSE AND THAT WHY I THINK I SHOULD REPLACE THIS PIPING. AM I CORRECT TO ASSUME THIS?
I'VE ATTACHED A SIMPLIFIED PIPING DIAGRAM OF WHAT I GOT.
IF POSSIBLE, COULD I GET SOME DETAIL INSTRUCTIONS ON WHAT I SHOULD DO, MAYBE A PIPING DIAGRAM EXAMPLE FOR THE BOILER AND RADIATORS.

You mention details
but not what it is you are trying to accomplish within those details. Simply speeding up the GPM rate in big pipe reducing to smaller will not directly solve much of anything.
If response time is the only issue, we must ask why? Slow responses = better comfort (generally). This may be a better system than you give credit to. Constant circulation seems in order. A few caveats first however.
Either the boiler will have to be capable of low water temps and love condensing or a bypass arrangement must be installed. Both would take advantage of the system you have and result in a very efficient and extremely comfortable one at that.
Also, please write in un-capitalized letters. Caps are usually reserved for SHOUTING or to test the eyesight of the old-timers like me. Caps are tough on the eyes lad. I failed the test years ago (:-o)

can the expansion tank be located in the secondary loop or should it always be located in the bypass loop.

primary loop
Our host here, Dan, makes a pretty good case on page 34 of his book "primary secondary pumping made easy" that the expansion tank should be in the primary loop with the secondary loops downstream of the primary pump. Still, the manufacturers directions should always be consulted.0
