Hi guys--
I've learned a lot from you all, especiall Scott Milne who I apprenticed with before I went out on my own. He taught me everything I know.
Just wanted to share photos of my first steam boiler. How'd I do? I'm very proud of it...
I threw in a pic of my girl Casey eating Guacamole for fun.

Cute kid Jeff
Glad to see you have the guts to post some pics of your work . A few critiques though . Knowing Scott Milne and his adamant stand against using any type of copper on a steam system , my guess is you left before he could tell you everything HE knows . Although I use copper for returns , I would say it isn't the best choice for steam mains . Having said that , I have seen a few copper steam headers and main piping working for decades without leaking .
Also , your equalizer and the 2 steam mains are not piped into the boiler header the most optimal way , and it looks like the Hartford Loop is too high . But with copper it makes correcting all that easy if the system has problems down the road . I don't mean to be too critical , but I've made the same mistakes myself , before I learned more about steam .0 -
OK...
Lets get to the punchline! Chris0 -
Sarcasm
You got me--sarcasm never works well on the computer. This customer asked us to correct their spitting air vents. I think this was done by the guy we lost the job to. Same old story...
That really is my daughter, though.0 -
Funny Jeff
She looks like me.
The Boiler looks like your work though .

I thought the copper
looked a little old . So who is this character , Scott ? And who's kid is that , really ?0 -
Hi Dad
I guess she does resemble you a little, Scott. Blond, very little hair. Her first word was Buderus.0 -
Ron
Jeff is a lurcker, who I have told should post more often.
He is a Wallie at heart and really should bring his wife to Woodmans with us and meet all the wallies who's names he knows.

That must have been
"your first steam boiler that you did many years ago". I have a similar one out there but no pics. Once in a while I pass by the house, and cringe..........
