will the Lt160 or L160 hot water heater that's rated at for 93.000 btu and my heat load being 53,000 be ok for this boiler

to supply both my heat load and hot water with out boiler short cycle problems

thanks

    Use the 53g tank

if you want to fill the tub. For more capacity, set up the tank at 140, and place a tempering valve at the HW tank outlet. That will increase DHW tank capacity. There's a small $$ difference between the 42g and 53g tank. Ask for the R2107 Logamtic control for outdoor reset and DHWT priority, then watch your fuel bills get smaller. The recovery time for DHW depend on boiler input, the temperature of the incoming cold water and setpoint temp. The tank recovery times can be found in the Buderus technical literature. You should be able to download the charts, if you don't have a Buderus catalogue.

but will my boiler hold the load for both my heating and DHW the 42 gal needs 93,000 btu
and the boiler that my contractor is installing is rated for 98.000 D.O.E
my heat load here is around 50,000

i will go with the 2109

    Answer

The smaller the input to the DHWTank coils, the slower the tank recovery. If the boiler control is dedicated to priority DHW recovery, the 42g indirect tank should recover in 10-15 min, depending upon incoming CW water temps. This again, presumes you're using the R2107 control or other reset control. Using the correct control means when the tank needs recovery, it shuts off any heating pumps, ramps the boiler to high temp, recovers the DHWTank, then turns on the heating pumps. In the summertime, the boiler only turns on to recover the DHWT. Use the 2109 if you can't afford the 2107. You won't be able to enjoy the capabilities of the system without the control. It's sort of like having a nice car but no steering wheel. Vishtaish?
