Right t-stats for this job?

can you give me some advice on thermostats?
I have 6 zones, with each one wired with 2 conductor t-stat wire. The connection is through a Taco zone valve controller. I don't have AC, nor a desire for fancy auto set-backs and such.

There's a wide variety of heat-only t-stats at the local big box (Menard's) with a equally wide variety of prices. I lean toward those good ol' Honeywell round types, about in the middle to upper end of the price range, but since I'm buying SIX
I'm also looking at some less expensive brands.

Are heat-only t-stats, in general, pretty stable and reliable? Any recommendations on lower cost but reliable t-stats that you use?

    T-Stats

    I tend to agree with Bill. The old T87 was a great stat for many years, but more and more states are startingto ban mercury bulb Tstats...the new Honeywell round digital is a very good stat and quite affordable. We just installed 65 of them in a nursing home here and the patients love them. Large display and easy turn, large dial. Can't go wrong with that stat.

    let me be the ....

    one to offer a different opinion...I hate T87's I have had so many inaccurate ones...no matter how I level them out..also merury is a hazard that I don't want to deal with.I have been using a Lux psd158. Accurate,compatible with zone valve and pump relays, no "leveling", no mercury,and the readout is easily read by all..especially those w/ reading issues. AND they are about the same price! Some might poo, poo them but...works for me...kpc
