Oversized equiptment

Question for others in hvac repair. Doing repair on oversized forced air furnace's, duct work undersized, or furnace too large for home. Fix it or walk away? So often repairs are done, even knowing that the furnace is cycling off on limit, often even a major as a heat exchanger. I dont like being put in this situation, tired of hearing it has worked this long. Cant you keep it running another year? Or cant you lower the input?

its not fun to be you.
You have to tell them whats what...thats that. i used to explain the advantages in their energy bills to change the plenum a bit and at least give the system a chance to lose the heat to the building vs the Great Out doors.0
