Adding a room to existing one pipe steam system

You can probably heat the reclaimed porch but what will sense the heat need? will you leave the door open to the rest of the house? If steam pipes are run out to the old porch will they need to be insluated to a higher degree than the basement? do you have room to extend to more than one rad. This will take some research.

Want to enclose front porch (10x28) and make it a entry/foyer to 75 yr old house w/ one pipe steam and new boiler. Just run system to new heated space and add baseboard steam? Or maybe radiant floor heat?0 -
If the steam system can handle the load
you can just find a good used radiator and pipe it in. See Dan's book "The Lost Art of Steam Heating" for the charts you need.
