Sizing radiators

For standing iron, old-time manufacturers seem to have been VERY standardized for what the dead men saw.
For example, a 3-tube radiator from say 37" - 40" high had the idential EDR rating regardless of manufacturer or style.
Similarly, a 2-column radiator within a few inches of the same height had the same rating.
With the really slim tube rads (like it sounds like you have) compare number of tubes and closest standard height for the EDR.
Personally--I'd deduct 10-15% from these ratings when the rads are used at low temperature--they don't seem to have the same radiant "view" as the earlier tube rads.

Hi guys. I am trying to figure out how much ft2 of steam each of my radiators are. I know how they need measured and have a sizing chart. But the sizing chart does take into consideration the thickness of each section. For example, most of my rads are 5 tubes, but some rads have sections that are 1" thick and others 1.5" thick. Also, I have one rad with 3 tubes. The sizing chart lists a 3 tube section as being 5" wide. Mine is 3.5" wide. If I were off by .25"-5" I might not worry about it but 1.5" seems like it would make a big difference. Does anyone have a more complete sizing chart or any other suggestions? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.0
