true story....
although...you can go vertical if and only if the system pressure is ABOVE 20 psi....kpc0 -
Yep!
Motors horizontal and electrical box/connections on top.If this seems to be a problem, almost all waterlubed circulators on the market can be disconnected from the pump housing(4 screws/allenheads) and turned 180°. This will get the electrical connection on top.Keep in mind...they will ONLY turn 180°, not 90°!
P.S. For all to see.....If you ever change a motor on a Grundfos 15-42/58 and have to junk it, SAVE THE SCREWS.
I was in a bind a few months back. The screw on my Sawzall rounded out.(what are the chances? He He He.)Lo and behold, the screw from a Grundfos motor fit exactly! They are also made of a much higher grade metal than the 50 cent replacement from the hardware store. Us Yankees find things in a mysterious way but it works! (see, you all thought you wouldn't learn something today, but dammit, you did!) Chris0 -
Why not 90° Chris?
The Grundfos Super Brute 15-58s I use will allow a 90° motor position. as long as the cover to the electricail clears.
Good score on the allen heads for the sawzall! I'm pretty sure the Grundfos screws are metric. I know metric allen wrenches fit better than US sizes.

I've turned 15-58 Super Bruted 1/4 turn.

The instruction sheet for the BruteII calls for the terminal box on one side or the other w/ the conduit entry facing down. The allen screws are 4mm. From the sheet "the pump must be installed w/ the motor shaft positioned horizontally. Under no circumstances should the pump be installed with the shaft vertical or where the shaftfalls below the horizontal plane."
For what its worth!!!
