Finally started up these boilers yesterday. It took forever to obtain the material due to budget crunch/ end of fiscal year. I am still waiting for my boiler staging/outdoor reset control to come in. These boilers are located in our dining hall. The former boilers were 2 Smith GB300's. They were only 6 years old. Both boilers had the right hand end sections replaced once already and all the refractory in the combustion chamber that was destroyed by the water. Found them to be cracked again in the spring.
The system was piped with the system pumps pulling through both boilers. They also had these controller valves on the supply outlets by Johnson Controls that throttled the flow through the boilers. Many of our buildings on the base are way over controlled and way over complicated for what the needs are. In this case, I changed the piping configuration to a primary/secondary arrangement. I let the system pumps move the system and the boiler pumps move btu's in and out of the main. I did away with those Johnson throttling valves. Johnson Controls should be able to integrate into the Tekmar control I will be using. In the end the job came out pretty nice. The Buderus 234's will give a nice long life for the New York Air National Guard.

Very nice
but I have a question...why all the extra 90° els in the venting. I try to keep them to a minimum to ease restriction. If the Tee had been rotated in the common, arolling 90 and a 45 would do, and a using the swivels could eliminate 1 90 on #3. I realize I am only looking at a few pictures and wasn't there, just curious from what I see, Otherwise a beautiful install.
