Technically speaking....................?
I belive the manufacturers suggest replacement. Although many of us have been plagued with dripping T&P valves, especially new ones. Try and trip it again by quickly opening it all the way, then releasing it, this should (if its fairly new) stop the drip for it may not be seating correctly. Sometimes a slight tap on top of the stem works too. Also, make sure your pressure doesn't exceed the spring rated on the valve or that you currently have a pressure reducing valve on the water main entering your house. If you do have a PRV on the main, you may need to install a potable expansion tank...Robert O'Connor/NJ0 -
You could turn the temp settings down until tomorrow...
when fixing it wouldnt be so much of a hassel.0
