a tireless worker for the Residential Hot Water Heating Association, here in B.C. passed away on Sept. 18. Not only did he serve for the RHWHA but also the HVCI of B. C., he chaired our technical committee and sat on the Canadian Hydronics Council.

He will be sorely missed by his family and friends, and also his colleagues. Please say a prayer for his family as he was only 56.

    Sad day...

    Hey Leo,

Dale was a great guy....last time I saw him he had joined us at the Code meeting in Victoria.

I'm in shock...the man gave and gave...way to young to move on.

Will be praying for his family.

  • Dale Riggs

We were saddened to learn of the sudden passing of CHC member, hydronics colleague and friend Dale Riggs of Modale Industries, British Columbia. Dale was a well-respected member of the National Hydronic Design Standard Committee/CSA B214 Technical Sub-Commttee and the Canadian Hydronics Council.

According to the Residential Hot Water Heating Association of B.C., Dale died peacefully in his sleep Saturday morning, September 18, 2004.

Following is his obituary written by his daughters.

    Dale Earl Riggs

    January 23, 1948 - September 18, 2004 Age 56
Dale was born and raised in the Dunbar area of Vancouver, BC by Earl and Wilma Riggs.

A loving husband, proud father (because we were great kids - have you met us :-)), devoted grandfather, honest businessman, and generous friend.

He is survived by his faithful dog Lady, dedicated wife Virginia (Ginny), his awesome girls Colette (Jim) and Coleen (Dave). His delightful grandchildren James 20, Nicole 16, Bryan 15, Kaylin 12, Jeremy 10. His active 91 year old mother-in-law Nessie and all of his siblings Joy (his twin), Bob (Diane), Rocke (Lorelee).

Active in his company Modale Industries Ltd for 30+ years. On the board of directors of RHWHA & HVCI, Technical Advisor of CHC and a member of the Power Squadron.

Weekends at "Just A Cabin" in Pt Roberts, fishing, boating, children, grandchildren and people were his loves.

Generous, funny (not in looks), happy, helpful, honest, trustworthy, giving, hard working, honourable, mischievious, if you knew Dale you know what I am saying.

The memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 28th 2004 at 2pm.
Royal Vancouver Yacht Club, 3811 Point Grey Rd, Vancouver.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to a charity of your choosing.

Dale will be missed by all that knew him, including yours truly.
