First day of Fall -- 85 degrees

Here in southeast Michigan we are enjoying a long stretch of sunny, 80+ temp days. Too bad the community pool is closed and too bad this is all too late for the a/c guys to make some last minute service calls.

But I'll enjoy it as long as it lasts.

    This must be the summer

we did not have. Here is what I did last Sunday. One shot is going off shore and the other is coming back. 6 to 8 foot seas and hi winds. I could not photograph the big waves as the hands were needed to hold on. These were taken while braced in the doorway. But the water was too cold and the shark stayed south. The hurricanes appear to have been pumping away (see, it is related) the warming currents just enough so we had 55 degree water temps. Left at 6:00am and got home at 8:30pm. Maybe next time.

    not here

I've been thinking about Scott Milne and JCA for the last few days. The Dogwoods have started changing colors, along with a few other trees. Winter is on the way.

The temp here was maybe in the low 80's today with a blessed low humidity. It's in the mid 50's in the mornings.

Scott and Chris have been fussing about summer being over. As of a little after noon today, it's officially fall (autumn).

Maybe it'll be a cold winter finally. Heaven knows, I have enough firewood! Ivan came through and knocked down 3 large trees in my lower yard that were well away from the house.

    Hey Jeff

Thanks for thinking of us, but we HAD a cold winter last year :) I am hoping for a mild winter this year. We certainly did'nt get a warm summer.

Are you going to Wetstock V ?

    Here in the South

We didn't have a very cold winter. I think it hit design temps for maybe 50 hours over the entire winter.

I'll be at WetStock V. I've go my ticket, hotel room, air fare and my wife's coming up too.

    Remember the winter of 78??

Was told the other night that preceeding the winter of 78 when we got socked with mounds of snow that it was an unusually warm fall with lots of hurricanes. Hope there really isn't a corelation here.
